Philippe Jabre | Founder, CIO and CEO of Jabre Capital Partners
Philippe Jabre is the founder, CIO and CEO of Jabre Capital Partners, a Geneva-based independent wealth management company and multi-family office that specialises in providing asset management services. A committed philanthropist, Mr Jabre is also the founder of the Association Philippe Jabre, an organisation that provides educational resources and healthcare support to underprivileged young people in Lebanon.
In addition to leading Jabre Capital Partners and the Association Philippe Jabre, Mr Jabre also serves on the Board of Trustees of the American University of Beirut and the Board of Overseers of Columbia University. He is also a member of various cultural, art and philanthropic foundations based across Europe and the Middle East.
Education
Drawing on his expertise in convertible arbitrage, alternative investments and risk management, Philippe Jabre has led Jabre Capital Partners from strength to strength. An alumnus of Columbia Business School with a master’s degree in business administration, Mr Jabre graduated with honours and was an active member of the academic institution’s Investment Banking Club, later joining Columbia University’s Board of Overseers in recognition of his professional achievements. Philippe Jabre also has a bachelor’s degree in business administration earned from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada, having graduated with distinction. Here, he was involved in various student leadership initiatives and was the proud recipient of the Dean’s List Award.
Early Life
Born in Beirut in 1960, Mr Jabre hails from Beit Chebab. He attended Notre Dame de Jamhour followed by the American University of Beirut prior to relocating to Canada due to the outbreak of the Lebanese Civil War. He started his career working for BAII Asset Management, the investment arm of BNP, gaining extensive experience in managing assets across an array of different markets.
GLG Partners
In London, Philippe Jabre joined GLG Partners, a division of Lehman Brothers International (Europe). He played a pivotal role in the company from 1996 to 2006, working as a partner and portfolio manager, overseeing the firm’s flagship investment fund. During his tenure, Mr Jabre formed strong relationships with sovereign wealth funds, as well as institutional partners across Europe and the Middle East. Combining his ability to anticipate macroeconomic trends with his significant expertise in global financial markets, he solidified his reputation as a leading investment manager.
Jabre Capital Partners
Philippe Jabre founded Jabre Capital Partners in Geneva in 2006, drawing on an extraordinarily successful career in finance to build a company that at one point managed multi-billion-dollar investment portfolios, catering to a prestigious global clientele.
Almaza Brewery
Mr Jabre acquired a majority stake in Almaza in 2021 from the Heineken Group, eventually returning to his home country. His involvement in revitalising Almaza – the iconic family-owned Lebanese brewery – underscores his commitment to heritage and local economic development.
